Dr.-Ing. Alexander BAYER studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University with a focus on production engineering, accompanied by several years of student work at the machine tool laboratory of RWTH Aachen University and at the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology in Aachen. His diploma thesis was in the field of laser application in the printing industry. Subsequently, Dr. BAYER completed his doctorate in the field of microsystems technology during a 5-year scientific collaboration at the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology.

Since 2004, Dr. BAYER has been working in the field of industrial property protection. He trained as a patent attorney in an internationally active patent law firm in Düsseldorf. Dr. BAYER passed the patent attorney examination in 2007 and practised as a patent attorney in an internationally active law firm in the Ruhr area until mid-2011 and in a law firm in Düsseldorf until mid-2016. In mid-2016, Dr. BAYER joined the law firm Walther . Walther . Hinz GbR as a partner, which was then renamed Patentanwaltskanzlei Walther . Hinz . Bayer PartGmbB.

Since the beginning of 2022, Dr. BAYER has continued the firm together with patent attorney Dr. FABER under the name WALTHER PATENT.
